Adding custom RSS feeds to Windows 7 \ Vista Feed Headlines gadget

I found the Windows Feed Headline (FH) gadget setup to be non-intuitive and since I didn’t find any official documentation, I decided to put it on my blog.

If you go to the configuration section of the FH gadget, you will notice that it doesn’t have an option to add feeds to it. This is because it gets its feeds from Internet Explorer (IE). To add your own feed, browse to the site containing the RSS feed using IE and click on the RSS link to subscribe to it. Go back to the configuration section in the gadget and you will see the new feed in the list of available feeds.

The list also contains some default feeds added by Microsoft. If you want to remove them, you can do so from IE. In IE, under the Favorites menu, the RSS tab contains all the RSS feeds you are currently subscribed to and you can delete them from there.

groovyPost has a similar article with screenshots on how to do this.
